Hello! My name is Justin Saxfield and I am a Talent Acquisition Professional, based out of Denver, Colorado, USA. Read more about my recruitment experience here.
Prior to recruiting, I helped small businesses and non-profits market themselves effectively and grow themselves through best online marketing practices. I also was involved in a few local Toastmasters groups in spare time for further professional development.
Beyond my professional life, some fun facts about me:
- I am traveler at heart. I've visited over 40+ countries (hoping to make it 50+ in the next few years). In addition, I've taken 2 extended world trips:
- In 2017, after nearly 4 years of prior planning, I ventured on world trek and lived as a nomad for nearly 12 months. I covered 24 countries in 5 different continents!
- In 2022-2023, I traveled through 13 countries in South America and Southeast Asia.
- I have lived abroad in Spain, Chile and Colombia for extended time periods.
- I love looking at maps as geography was one of my favorite classes in school. No surprise there, right?
- I enjoy doing long, extended walks:
- I've walked across the Camino de Santiago (Spain) Trail in 2017, which took me 32 days and over 500+ miles (800km) of walking to complete - more detail here.
- I walked the Kumano Kodo (Japan) Trail in 2023, which lasted 7 days and over 100+ miles (170km) of walking to complete. I even wrote a guide to help others plan their walk here.
- My favorite TV Show currently is The Big Bang Theory.
- I started my own business in university. It was a book-selling business where I sold books online for my fellow classmates. I loved running my own business and hope to do it again someday.
- I don't break-dance too often, but on certain random occasions I can break out some amazing moves!
- I am an avid podcast listener. I listen to all sorts of ones (e.g. personal growth, news, travel), but my favorite is Coffee Break Spanish, which has allowed me to grow my Spanish language knowledge!
- In my free time, some of my hobbies include running, hiking, skiing, reading, cars, history and biking. Living in Colorado allows me to enjoy them regularly.
